The bespoke mantelpiece was installed on location and crafted precisely to meet the client's requirements, incorporating the existing masonry. Every part of the piece is free of any visible fastenings, even when viewed from below. The design draws inspiration from the strata of sediment in shale rock, using a combination of three wood species (maple, walnut, and cherry) to achieve the desired effect.
