Country Farmhouse Hutch

American country furniture was made outside of city centers and was primarily concerned with practicality rather than decoration. While more common than the high style pieces of the time, I find many original examples of country furniture to be no less impressive. This country hutch bookshelf in American cherry is about as simple of a design as you can get with a mop-board base and a single run of ogee trim adorning the top crown. The beautiful cherry in this piece tells the story and it will only become more beautiful with time.
