This heirloom chest is made from a single tree of American Chestnut, an incredibly rare wood to work with following the near extinction of the tree due to blight in the mid 1900's. The chest is simple and design and stature but contains an incredible amount of detailed hand work including 72 hand-cut dovetails both visible and not visible.
