The central ethos and animating spirit of Blissmade is 'The Finest Kind'. It represents the highest form of good, in the Platonic sense, that is singular, perfect, eternal, and unknowable. It is the intended destination of our work, building upon four cornerstones of materials, purpose, soul, and durability.

MATERIALS

The inherent beauty of our natural world transcends culture and time. To harness and honor this universal truth we use only the finest selection of native solid hardwood timber. This beauty is translated to the final product by employing  the material as close as possible to how it exists in nature.

SOUL

Furnituremaking is the art of human mind and hands sorting the beautiful chaos of natural materials into an order that serves purpose. If done properly, the object that results becomes a valued part of the life of the person for which it was made. These objects take on memories, and are often passed down generations, the value of them is measured in Soul.

PURPOSE

The difference between a stack of wood and a piece of furniture is Purpose. We have little interest in beautiful & useless objects which already exist in abundance. Our furniture must always perform it's intended function intuitively and flawlessly. It must become indispensable to its owner.

DURABILITY

An object that gains value over time maintains purpose and is made with a properly timeless aesthetic. Blissmade furniture is made with solid hardwood and traditional techniques that have been proven over centuries. Our aesthetic and proportions are inspired by the greats in furniture making, architecture, art, and other fields of human-centered design.

We are a limited-production shop focused on maintaining a small and efficient footprint. Without the overhead costs associated with larger operations, such as showrooms and sales teams, we can invest more of our customers' dollars into creating the finest furniture using the best materials available.

Customization is our specialty. While larger companies must pause entire production lines to meet customer requests, all of our furniture and cabinetry is 'Benchmade,' crafted one piece at a time from start to finish by a single skilled artisan.
